Your Homespace phone number is a real local number tied to your business — not your personal cell. Calls forward to any phone you choose, texts land in your Capture inbox alongside web requests, and missed calls trigger an automatic SMS with a booking link so you never lose a lead.
The business phone number is included on all Homespace plans at no extra cost.

How your Homespace number works

When a customer calls or texts your Homespace number:
  • Calls are forwarded in real time to the phone number you configure in settings.
  • Missed calls automatically send the caller an SMS with your booking link so they can request a job without waiting for a callback.
  • Voicemails are transcribed and delivered to your Inbox so you can read them at a glance.
  • SMS messages land in your Capture inbox alongside web and form requests, and you can reply from the app using your Homespace number.
When you call or text a customer from the Homespace app, your Homespace number appears on their caller ID — not your personal number.

Set up your phone number

1

Go to Phone settings

Navigate to Dashboard > Phone and click Settings.
2

Enter your forwarding number

Under Forward to, enter the personal or office phone number where you want incoming calls delivered. Use a full number including area code.
3

Save

Click Save. Homespace updates the forwarding configuration immediately. Test it by calling your Homespace number.

Set business hours

Business hours control when calls ring through to your forwarding number. Calls received outside your set hours go straight to voicemail and trigger the missed-call SMS instead of ringing your phone.
1

Open business hours

Go to Dashboard > Phone > Settings and scroll to Business hours.
2

Set your schedule

Toggle each day on or off and set start and end times. Hours are set in one-hour increments.
3

Save

Click Save. After-hours calls will no longer ring through to your forwarding number.
Setting business hours is the easiest way to stop after-hours calls from reaching your personal phone. Callers still get an immediate SMS with your booking link, so you won’t miss the lead.

Record a custom voicemail greeting

1

Open the voicemail settings

Go to Dashboard > Phone > Settings and click Voicemail greeting.
2

Record or upload your greeting

Record a greeting directly in the browser, or upload an audio file. Keep it short — state your business name and that you’ll call back shortly.
3

Save

Click Save. New voicemails will play your greeting immediately.

Make outbound calls and send SMS

From any customer record or job, click the phone icon to call or the message icon to send a text. All outbound communication uses your Homespace number, so customers see a consistent number in their call history and can always text or call back on the same line. Replies to your outbound texts appear in the Capture inbox alongside other incoming requests.

How your number is assigned

Your Homespace number is a US local number matched to the area code you selected when you signed up. If no numbers were available in your exact area code, Homespace assigns the closest available local number and notifies you.
Contact support to request a number change. Keep in mind that any existing customers who have saved your current Homespace number will need to be notified of the new one.
Number porting is not currently supported. Your Homespace number is provisioned fresh when your account is set up.
All inbound SMS messages are delivered to your Capture inbox regardless of business hours or availability. You can read and reply to them at any time from the app.
