How to access
Navigate to Dashboard > Jobs from the sidebar. In-field techs access the same data through the Homespace mobile app on iOS or Android.What techs see when they open the app
Every morning, techs open the app to a single screen: today’s jobs in optimized route order. Homespace calculates the most efficient sequence based on location and time windows — no guesswork. Each job card surfaces the customer’s name, address, a quick-glance note from dispatch, and the parts expected on-site. Tap any job card to see the full job detail: customer history from previous visits, the signed estimate, today’s parts list, and any photos already on file from past jobs. All of this loads before the tech rings the doorbell.Job statuses and customer notifications
Each status change triggers an automatic notification to both dispatch and the customer:On the way
Tech taps “On the way.” Customer receives an SMS with a live ETA pulled from GPS. Dispatch board updates in real time.
Arrived
Geofence auto-detects arrival and prompts the tech to confirm. Clock-in starts. Customer receives an arrival confirmation.
Marking a job complete
Fill required photo slots
Each job type has a configured set of required photos (before, after, panel label, etc.). The complete button stays locked until every required slot is filled. Tap a photo slot, take the shot — it’s geo-stamped automatically.
Add notes and parts
Log any notes or swap parts used on-site. Scanned barcodes update the invoice’s materials list automatically. Inventory deducts from the truck’s assigned stock.
Capture the customer's signature
Hand the phone to the customer. They review the work summary and sign with a finger. The signature attaches to the invoice and the job record permanently.
Configuring required photos per job type
Required photos are set per job type in Settings, not per individual job.Select or create a job type
Pick an existing job type (e.g., HVAC tune-up, roof inspection) or create a new one.
Add required photo slots
Under the “Required photos” section, add slots with descriptive labels: “Before (exterior)”, “Panel label”, “After (installed part)”. Each slot becomes a mandatory step before job close.
Key capabilities
Offline mode
Full job access without a cell signal. Photos, notes, parts, and signatures all save locally and sync the moment service returns. Nothing is lost.
Required photos
Configurable per job type. Techs cannot close a job without filling every required photo slot. Geo-stamped on capture.
Time tracking
Geofence auto-clocks techs in when they arrive and out when they leave. Manual override available. Exports are payroll-ready.
Barcode scanning
Scan parts from the truck. Inventory deducts automatically and the materials list on the invoice updates in real time.
Customer history
Last visit date, last invoice, and standing notes surface on every job card before the tech interacts with the customer.
Auto-close triggers
Job completion automatically generates an invoice draft from the signed estimate and sends a review request to the customer.
After a job is marked complete
Two things happen automatically the moment a tech marks a job complete:- Invoice draft — Homespace pulls the signed estimate and any parts added or swapped on-site into a draft invoice. It’s ready for your review or auto-send, depending on your settings.
- Review request — The customer receives a branded review request via SMS. Applause routes five-star responses to your Google/Yelp/Facebook profiles and intercepts anything below four stars as a private message to you first.
You can configure whether invoices auto-send on job completion or go to a draft queue for review. Find this setting under Settings > Invoicing > Auto-send on complete.
